CWRU’s Office of Energy & Sustainability strives to be the green think box and implementer of many of the sustainability initiatives on campus. We hope to create a positive change to the world through our operations, and daily interactions with the campus and Cleveland community, and are constantly thinking about ways to improve the sustainability state of the university. The office partners and collaborates with many other offices on campus, and with individual faculty and staff, and student organizations, to sponsor sustainability events, track and benchmark our current efforts, and transform the university towards a flourishing tomorrow.

What we work on:

  • Climate Action Plan management
  • Energy, greenhouse gas & sustainability data collection and reporting
  • Energy efficiency projects and campus energy metering
  • We advise and do education on:
    • Recycling, waste to landfill and compost
    • Sustainable transportation
    • Green buildings and grounds
  • Drive campus engagement in energy & sustainability through:
    • The Sustainability House residential program and Student Sustainability Ambassadors
    • The green bag lunch series
    • Committees we host: - Bike committee - Scooter Ad-hoc Committee - Recycling Committee - Climate Action Plan Committee - Tree & Bee Committee
