Bike to Work Day is May 18

Friday, May 18 is national Bike to Work Day! There's a lot going on around campus on Bike to Work Day and we hope you participate by cycling to work!

Be sure to stop by one of Bike Cleveland's hubs along your route free coffee, snacks and other goodies between 7:00 - 9:30am.The CWRU Office for Sustainability and UCI will be hosting one of the hubs at the corner of East Blvd and Euclid in front of Severance Hall.

University Circle Inc (UCI) is having a one day contest on Bike to Work Day also. The group will provide a prize to all participants of the University Circle-based workplace with the highest percentage of employees biking to work. The objective is to promote the resources available through the new uGO website, encourage sign-ups on Gohio Commute and increase camaraderie among people who work in the Circle through the fun act of biking to work. Contest details are on the uGO event page.

To participate in the uGO One-Day Bike Challenge:

  • Create an account at GohioCommute.com using your work email address
  • Bike to work on Friday, May 18th
  • Log your bike trip through your Gohio Commute dashboard
  • Then encourage your colleagues to do the same!

Participating employees from the organization with the highest participation rate will receive a prize. Winners will be announced on May 31st!

There's also a contest for the whole month of May: NOACA’s May Bike Challenge [website no longer available] so you’re not able to bike to work on May 18, consider biking other days this month. Log your trips on Gohio Commute for a chance to win a raffle prize throughout the contest. Contact UCI’s Transportation Manager, Annie Pease (APease@universitycircle.org / 216-707-5015) with any questions about either contest.
