Join the Office for Sustainability to learn more about how you can get involved with the City of Cleveland's Climate Action Plan on Wednesday February 21. The event will be held from noon to 1:00pm in the Tinkham Veale University Center's Senior Classroom (on first floor behind the information desk, room 134).
The City of Cleveland, Mayor’s Office of Sustainability will lead the talk to discuss Cleveland's Climate Action Plan and their partnership with Cleveland Neighborhood Progress (CNP). CNP has developed an active cohort of resident Climate Ambassadors to engage their own neighborhoods through Resilient Cleveland, an initiative to improve the quality of life for residents across the City who are more vulnerable to the risks of a changing climate. Participants in the Green bag Lunch will be encouraged to get engaged through neighborhood workshops on health, community and climate action to inform the updated Climate Action Plan.
Speakers will include:
- Erika Meschkat, Sustainability Manager at the City of Cleveland, will give an update on the City’s Climate Action Plan progress
- Bianca Butts, Climate Resilience and Sustainability Manager at CNP, will speak about the Climate Ambassadors Program
- Veronica Walton, a Climate Ambassador, will speak about their experience and the work being done in Cleveland. Her neighborhood is near CWRU.
CWRU Office for Sustainability will provide desserts and coffee. Those attending are encouraged to bring their lunch to eat during the presentation.
Please RSVP on Eventbrite and share on Facebook.
After the event, this presentation and past Green Bag Lunch large screen presentations are available on the CWRU Office for Sustainability's website.
