Join the CWRU Office for Sustainability with the Trust for Public Land of Cleveland to learn more about how we can be advocates for our own parks. This Green Bag Lunch will be held on Wednesday, January 24 in the Tinkham Veale University Center's Senior Classroom at noon until 1:00pm.
The Trust for Public Land rates city's parks through their ParkScore. Cleveland's ParkScore was a 45 out of 100. Find the score details on their website. We ranked well in basketball hoops, but not so good in dog parks.
Learn from the Trust for Public Land how you can help your municipality decide how park funding is spent. Their GPS based Climate-Smart Cities program can help you be an advocate for your favorite park. Speakers will include:
- Matt Schmidt, Program Director at the Trust for Public Land
- Shanelle Smith, current MBA student at CWRU and State Director at the Trust for Public Land
A question and answer session will conclude the presentation.
Desserts and coffee will be provided by the CWRU Office for Sustainability. Those attending are encouraged to bring their own lunch to eat during the talk.
Find presentations from past Green Bag Lunches on our Green Bag Lunch Series page. This presentation will be available after the event as well.
