Virtual Green Bag Lunch Series: Composting Opportunities at Home

Dry leaves, garden waste and kitchen scraps piled within wooden structure

There's still time to start your own home compost operation this summer to improve your environmental footprint! There are many options for composting at home - join us virtually to hear about a few at our first ever virtual Green Bag Lunch! We'll be meeting on Wednesday, June 24 from noon to 1:00pm.

Short presentations will be given by the Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District's education specialist, Rust Belt Riders co-founder, and a CWRU staff member about her own home compost bin. We will discuss different types of compost bins, share info on local compost drop off options for those who can't compost at home, and answer your questions on composting.

Current composters are also welcome to join the conversation!

Registered participants will be emailed a Zoom link the day before the event. Please RSVP via Eventbrite. You will not receive the Zoom link otherwise.

Any formal presentation slides that can be shared will be available on the Office of Energy & Sustainability's Green Bag Lunch archive webpage the week after the event.

Know you want a compost bin now? The Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District sells affordable bins and accessories and are accepting pre-orders until June 25. Orders must be physically picked up at their Garfield Heights site on Saturday, June 27.
