The Women in Tech Initiative hosted their first Ice Cream Social on Friday, September 9, for new and returning students interested in a career in technology to give them an opportunity to learn more about the initiative and programs offered.
This social event took place from 1:15 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and was held in front of the Glennan Building.
Students who came to the event were able to meet other students and the members of the student group Girls Who Code, and relax with peers while they were free to grab an ice cream or two.
Craig Newmark, double alumnus and craigslist founder, is a proud supporter of the Women in Tech Initiative. Thanks to his commitment, the initiative fosters learning and growth in the fields of technology through mentorship and professional learning opportunities, builds community with on-campus gatherings, shares resources, and hosts networking events on and off campus with leaders in the field.
