La Alianza is a Latinx student organization that serves the community, celebrates the Latinx culture and supports Latinx students at Case Western Reserve University. As an organization, La Alianza prides itself in fostering a space for Latinx and Hispanic students on campus to grow and thrive as individuals and as members of the CWRU community. We aim to support our members on an academic, social and cultural level.
We typically hold general body meetings every other week for our members and have campus-wide events such as Noche Latina, which is a night of Latin music in Jolly Scholar, Gala Latina to celebrate our academic successes, and La Fiesta to celebrate and share our culture. We welcome everyone to be a member of La Alianza.
The best way to support La Alianza is to join us and become a member! We want all CWRU students, both Latinx and non-Latinx, to join us to celebrate and promote Latinx/Hispanic culture on- and off-campus. People can help our organization by attending general body meetings, being involved in committees for our programming and donating to our scholarship fund. The Diego Barrera Bayona Scholarship is given to multiple members of La Alianza each year to help relieve the burden of affording college.
La Alianza is very active on social media. Recently, we had our members do a takeover, where we held a spirit week via our social media pages where everyone could get to meet our members through wacky posts! We hope you will follow us on Facebook and Instagram and check out our website!
