CWRU students Kareem Agag and Aayush Parikh help bring electricity and clean water to schools in India.

You know that business philosophy, “Do well by doing good”?

Senior economics majors Kareem Agag and Aayush Parikh sure do.

Backed by a grant from Projects for Peace, the two Case Western Reserve University students recently brought electricity, clean water, and proper ventilation and cooling to three schools in the Jawhar region of India.

“It was an incredible experience to have positively impacted the lives of so many people,” Kareem says.

The team installed solar panels to provide clean energy to the community school and empowered members of the community to operate and maintain the infrastructure. It was a project Kareem and Aayush began work on through the Great Lakes Energy Institute Fellowship, a CWRU program to enhance energy literacy among the next generation of executives, educators, politicians and technology experts.

What will you do well? What will you do for the greater good? We can't wait to see!
