Praxis is about hands-on, practical action alongside critical reflection — making while theorizing. A praxis-driven approach attends as much to process as to final products or outcomes. Drawing from the work of Paulo Friere (Pedagogy of the Oppressed), this approach recognizes that we are disciplined and inculcated into structures of limitation, inhibition, and oppression. These structures can be interrogated from the inside through experimentation and play with newfound tools. Pick them up. Get a feel for them. Try doing something with them. What new questions and possibilities might they afford in your particular academic field? How might they make your work come alive in new ways?
