Outstanding Graduate Career
This award recognizes a PhD student in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Case Western Reserve University who exhibited overall excellence throughout their graduate career, including performing outstanding research, publishing high-quality manuscripts, delivering engaging and high-profile talks, and demonstrating leadership ability.

2020 Doctoral Excellence Award
Nathaniel Braman
Nathaniel Braman, advised by Anant Madabhushi at the Center for Computational Imaging and Personalized Diagnostics (CCIPD), received the 2020 Doctoral Excellence Award for Biomedical Engineering from the School of Medicine.
Braman's work focused on the development of new measurement and analysis techniques to extract information about a tumor and tumor environment to determine the best treatment strategy for cancers of the breast and lung.
He defended his PhD dissertation, titled "Novel Radiomics and Deep Learning Approaches Targeting the Tumor Environment to Predict Response to Chemotherapy,” on April 17, 2020.
