Case-Coulter Translational Research Partnership (CCTRP)
The Translational Research Partnership (TRP) between Case Western Reserve and the Wallace H. Coulter Foundation fosters collaborations among clinicians and engineers on translational research projects with the potential to impact patient care. The program is led by Robert Kirsch, PhD, chairman of the Department of Biomedical Engineering and Steve Fening, PhD, Coulter Program Director.
The program invests more than $1.1 million in direct funding and support services each year to to help research teams from Case Western Reserve advance products from the laboratory to the marketplace, where they can be available to improve patient care.
Funding for full projects can range from $50,000 to $200,000 per year. Smaller pilot grants are available as well. The funding goes towards preparing projects for commercialization, such as demonstrating technical feasibility, market feasibility and industry interest.
The process and project selection is guided by an external oversight committee. This committee is composed of professional investors from the venture and angel funding communities, serial entrepreneurs, industry experts, and entrepreneurial clinicians.
More information on the program can be found throughout this site, and the program leadership would be happy to discuss further with you.
