THRIVE FOR CHANGE is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization incorporated in 2021 with the mission of promoting health, hope, and healing for individuals at risk of overdose. It focuses on providing harm reduction supplies such as naloxone and contraceptives in addition to offering education, training, and care linkages. Thrive for Change also engages in community outreach through various partner organizations, events, and visits to neighborhoods and homeless encampments.
The idea for Thrive for Change began in 2020 when Ashley Rosser and Bethany Roebuck partnered during the COVID-19 pandemic to address the surge in overdose deaths. During that time they served over 3,000 people in five counties through harm reduction outreach. With their incorporation as a nonprofit organization in 2021, Roebuck became Executive Director of Thrive for Changes, and Rosser took on the role of Harm Reduction Education Coordinator.
The organizations primary focus is on compassion and improving health outcomes, Thrive for Change employs people with lived experience in substance use at all levels. It also provides food, clothing, and work opportunities as well as referring individuals to other organizations and individuals who can provide treatment and care.
