Meet Kayla Klatt, an MD/PhD student at CWRU whose research is shaping the future of medicine and whose leadership has been integral to the CWRU Alumni Venture Fund. She tackles the complex challenge of improving adoptive cell therapies to treat cancer and autoimmune diseases in the Parameswaran Lab. Beyond the lab, Kayla also serves as Co‑President of HyperCase. This student‑led startup incubator pairs interdisciplinary student teams with local healthcare providers to spark innovation and deliver practical healthcare solutions.


What excites you most about CWRU AVF?


“I’m most excited about engaging with founders and CEOs in the healthcare and biotech startup spaces. Meeting with these individuals is a great opportunity to build my network and gather pearls of wisdom for what it takes to start and run a successful business.”


Fun Fact


Kayla played varsity soccer in college. She’s retired now, but still keeps active playing in a pickleball league on the West Side of Cleveland.
