The moderator experience is meant to help improve your public speaking skills and expand your network. Your role is to introduce the speaker, ask pre-prepared questions to start the discussion and, as the event continues, call on audience members to ask questions.
Undergraduates and graduate students from all schools and colleges at CWRU are welcome to moderate a speaker series event. The only requirement to be a moderator is that you are a current CWRU student. We'd love to have you moderate our next event!
The main responsibilities of the moderator include:
- Research the speaker.
- Meet with the speaker prior to the event.
- Prepare questions to be asked throughout the event.
- Moderate questions from the audience.
