Explore monthly teamwork workshops

Elevate your team’s success with monthly teamwork workshops. Beginning in 2024, the Office of Interprofessional and Interdisciplinary Education and Research will host monthly events to unlock your potential for high-impact teamwork, cultivating excellent communication and interpersonal relationships and fostering personal growth. 

The workshops will be offered on the third Wednesday of the month from 10 a.m. to noon, alternating between locations at Case Western Reserve University's main campus and the Health Education Campus. All faculty and staff are welcome to participate. 

The 2024 topics include:

Teamwork dimensions, emotional intelligence and psychological safety

Learn about the multiple dimensions of a team and how this conceptual framework can help you assess your team better. The foundational roles that emotional intelligence and psychological safety play in high-impact teamwork will also be explored.

Feedback and difficult conversations

Discuss deconstructive feedback and how it can be utilized effectively. Participants will practice deconstructive communication techniques for difficult conversations.

Conflict management and negotiation

Workshop participants will learn how deconstructive conversation can be applied in conflict management and negotiation situations. The skills presented in the workshop will be practiced through case scenarios and role-play exercises.

Mutual learning approach

In this workshop, participants will discuss and practice applying Schwarz’s mutual learning approach—a powerful set of values, assumptions and behaviors that can lead to highly effective and impactful teamwork.

Participants in the workshops will use individual reflections, group work, team challenges and other interactive methods to practice applying teamwork concepts, principles and skills that are being taught.
