Our Goal
The goal of the Carpenter Lab, affiliated with the Departments of Medicine and Pathology at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, is to identify protective immune pathways and antigens that will contribute to tuberculosis vaccine development. We are studying how human memory T cells from vaccinated or latently-infected individuals respond to autologous macrophages infected with virulent Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb).
Our Team
We are a diverse group of researchers and trainees who seek to better understand immune responses to chronic infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis in particular. We are passionate about learning and making an impact.
Meet our team and learn more about our research interests.
Our Location
We are located on the Health Sciences Campus, on the 10th floor of the Biomedical Research Building. We are affiliated with the Departments of Medicine and Pathology at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, and with the Division of Infectious Diseases and HIV Medicine at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center.
