Requests for Applications 2019

CBHI will notify applicants whether they are invited to submit a full application by July 19, 2019.

CBHI was founded to promote collaborative research among brain health scientists and physician scientists at its member institutions:

  • Case Western Reserve University
  • Cleveland Clinic
  • Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center
  • Kent State University
  • MetroHealth Medical Center
  • Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED)
  • University Hospitals

To capitalize on our wealth of talent and leverage existing strengths to achieve something together that individual investigators or institutions might find difficult to achieve alone, CBHI aims to build forward-looking programs, identify areas for future collaborations, catalyze new research opportunities, and develop impactful research.

To those ends, CBHI is soliciting research proposals from pairs of faculty at member institutions in the form of the CBHI Scholars Award. Projects should address a key question in lifespan brain health using a multidisciplinary, collaborative approach between two research groups in different departments or member institutions. Proposals will be evaluated by the CBHI Executive Committee and funded based on scientific merit and strategic relevance to its mission. Preference will be given to proposals that have the potential to foster future funding by federal agencies and private foundations including multi-investigator, center, or program project grants.
