Overview
The Liver Update 2018, will update health care providers on the latest in research and clinical trials presented at the annual meeting of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD) meeting in San Francisco in November 2018. Expert faculty will summarize select abstracts and presentations and condense them in a format that will be suitable to a broad audience including those not focused on treating liver diseases. Two state-of-the art lectures will cover the latest and overarching perspective that will be delivered by local and national experts. This update is a great opportunity for those who do not typically attend the liver meeting or may not have focused on certain aspects of it but want to stay up-to-date on the most clinically important research.
This course is for gastroenterologists, hepatologists, surgeons, primary care physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists, and nurses.

Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 3.75 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Program Learning Objectives
1. Discuss in a condensed but comprehensive form the most important research findings presented at the annual meeting of the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease (AASLD) related to these key topic areas: hepatitis B, hepatitis C, liver cancer, fatty liver disease, cholestatic liver disease, liver transplantation, and hepatic encephalopathy.
2. Identify the applications of research to clinical practice.
3. Recognize new research that may be practice changing and how this may be applicable in
their clinical setting.
4. Discuss the potential implications of long term research on the practice of hepatology.
