Phoebe L. Stewart, PhD, professor in the Department of Pharmacology at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, received a National Institutes of Health (NIH) R37 Merit Award for the project “Molecular mechanisms of adenovirus neutralization.”
The award is listed by NIH as project number 2R37AI107960-11, formerly 5R01AI107960-10. Stewart conducts the work with Dmitry Shayakhmetov at Emory University.
Stewart also serves as vice chair of educational programs in the Department of Pharmacology and is a member of the Cleveland Center for Membrane and Structural Biology and the Developmental Therapeutics Program in the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Stewart’s research group uses cryo-electron microscopy to study macromolecular complexes, including viruses and virus-host factor complexes. The NIH project focuses on molecular mechanisms of adenovirus neutralization.
