Dear Full-time Members of the Faculty:
I’m writing to share with you some very exciting news. The Office of the Provost, the Office of Institutional Research and [U]Tech have been working together over the last few years to build a central hub for faculty appointment, demographic, teaching, research and scholarship, and service information for Case Western Reserve University faculty called the Faculty Information System (FIS).
The FIS will also serve to track institutionally relevant milestones in the faculty lifecycle from initial appointment through promotions and tenure, sabbaticals and leaves, and retirement. The FIS will be made available to all faculty in late Fall 2021.
You can find additional information about the system, including benefits to CWRU faculty and a development timeline, on the FIS website.
I am writing to ask for your assistance in validating the following information in FIS associated with your record:
- Contact information: home address, phone number, email address
- Highest degree earned and corresponding year
- Academic rank and department
- Years at current rank
You will need to login to FIS at https://fis.case.edu to validate the information.** If any information is inaccurate or needs to be updated, please fill out this Google Form. This should take no longer than five (5) minutes to complete. A detailed instructional guide, as well as information regarding data security, can be found in this guide (PDF). We ask that you complete the validation process by no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, May 28.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact FIS Support at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I want to thank you for helping to advance this critical and vital university project.
Ben Vinson III
Provost and Executive Vice President
