About the Office of the Provost

The provost provides leadership that supports all aspects of the academic enterprise of Case Western Reserve University and is guided by five strategic pillars. The provost, therefore, oversees the following areas of the institution.

Institutional Accreditation

CWRU receives its institutional level accreditation from the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), and was first accredited in 1913.

Outcome Assessment

Outcome Assessment provides valuable data to the university about student learning for the purpose of program improvement. Office of Interprofessional and Interdisciplinary Education and Research

The Office of Interprofessional and Interdisciplinary Education and Research helps all faculty, staff and students as well as university’s affiliates achieve higher impact through effective teamwork. The office's purview spans the eight schools at CWRU as well as more than 40 affiliates and partners, including Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals and many others.

Conciliation & Mediation Program

The Faculty Conciliation and Mediation Program is an alternative to the grievance process. It’s a no-cost program to help faculty members resolve conflicts. In addition to providing conciliation and mediation internally, the program also makes outside mediators available as needed.

The Office of Institutional Research provides information about CWRU and its external environment to constituents within and outside the university, while also supporting strategic planning, assessment, evaluation, and institutional decision-making.

Office of the Registrar

The Office of the Registrar is committed to ensuring the integrity, security, and longevity of academic records; providing support and leadership for the Student Information System (SIS); and leading and supporting the implementation of academic policy. The office provides official transcripts, degree and enrollment verifications, support for students utilizing Veterans Benefits, and SIS resource support to students, staff and faculty.
