2007 - Basket Raffle

Seventh Annual Basket Raffle

The Basket Raffle is a successful program coordinated by the Staff Advisory Council’s Community Service Committee. This fundraiser has proven to be a very successful endeavor. In past years we have donated as much as $6000 to charity. This year, all proceeds will be donated to Restore Cleveland Hope for the Cozad-Bates House Restoration Project/Education Center. The Cozad-Bates House is the only pre-Civil-war structure in University Circle and was once a safe house for slaves traveling the Underground Railroad. CWRU alumna and author Joan Southgate is leading the effort to restore the site and hopes to convert it into an Underground Railroad education center.

Results

We had a total of 39 baskets donated to the raffle this year.

Through ticket sales and a generous contribution from the Office of the President, the committee is able to donate $4,000 to Restore Cleveland Hope.

All of the winners here‌ have been contacted and the baskets have been picked up.

The SAC Community Service Committee would like to extend many thanks for the generosity of all who helped to make the 7th annual basket raffle a huge success. The CWRU Community should be proud of it's giving spirit and role in helping to provide much support to Cleveland organizations.

Thank you to our committee, and thank you to everyone that helped make this raffle possible. We look forward to presenting you with Basket Raffle 2008 next year!
