Serving CWRU's International Community
We assist schools and departments with student and employment visa options for international students, scholars, visitors, and employees, which will permit the greatest benefit and flexibility to CWRU and to the individual. We work with federal and state government agencies to obtain appropriate visa documentation for admission to the U.S., authorization for education and employment, and maintenance of legal status for our international population.
Our Mission
The mission of the Visa and Immigration Services & Advisors (VISA) Office is to enhance the international experience and promote intercultural exchange at CWRU for students, faculty, staff, scholars, and visitors. This office also works closely with other administrative and academic departments with the following objectives in mind:
- Provide excellent service to the international students, faculty, staff, scholars, and visitors, as well as to the admissions offices, schools, and academic departments of CWRU.
- Protect the interests of CWRU and its international community by remaining knowledgeable about immigration issues and advising students and University personnel according to regulations.
- Assist international students in achieving their academic objectives.
- Although primarily involved with immigration policies and procedures, the VISA Office may also assist the international community with housing issues, personal problems, and financial and legal matters.
