David Shermanhelps innovative leaders and their organizations deliver great performance through deep synergy. He leads the Cooperative Advantage Collaborative through which he is co-creating practical science-based methods to bring the vision of Flourishing Enterprise to business and social enterprises. He is Co-Chair of the Advisory Board for Aclima Inc. an innovative startup that has partnered with Google to use sensor networks to map out environment in real-time. He is also on the advisory council of Fair Trade USA. He is an advisor at Blu Skye where he teamed with David Cooperrider to develop an approach to industry-level sustainability initiatives for the dairy and magazine industries that combined insight with system in the room convening. In 2004 David partnered with Jib Ellison to start Wal-Mart on its sustainability journey. David was a founding partner of Sustainable Value Partners and a Vice President at A.T. Kearney where he led an Asia-based practice. Clients include: Cathay Pacific, Cisco, Fair Trade USA, Nestle, Philips Electronics, Sony, Staples, Wal-Mart, Wikimedia, Waste Management and other leaders across a wide range of sectors. He is co-author of Flourishing Enterprise where he led the research effort underlying the book. He earned a doctor of management at the Weatherhead School of Management where he researched social entrepreneurship. He also holds an MBA from UC Berkeley and a BS in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University.
