This award was established in 2008 to honor outstanding teachers in the university's Seminar Approach to General Education and Scholarship (SAGES) program, a writing-intensive set of five courses for all undergraduates who matriculated from 2005 through 2023.
In AY 2025-26, the award will begin recognizing and honoring the distinguished teaching of writing-intensive general education courses in the university's new common core curriculum, such as the Academic Inquiry Seminars and Communication Intensive courses.
The Richard A. Bloom, M.D. Award will be given annually, and the recipient will be selected by students based upon student nominations.
More details coming soon.
