Everyone, regardless of ability, should be given enough time to complete a task on your site. While it is typically better to give users unlimited time to complete tasks, some instances require time limits.
To create the best experience possible, allow users to do one of the following before or during timed tasks:
- Turn off: The user turns off the time limit before beginning the task.
- Adjust: The user adjusts the time limit within a range that is at least 10 times the default time limit before beginning the task.
- Extend: The user is warned before time ends and is given at least 20 seconds to extend the time limit through a simple action. The user is allowed to do this at least 10 times.
