Content elements such as carousels and slideshows that update, change or scroll automatically present problems to those with certain disabilities. Typically, these types of content change too quickly for screen readers to present all of the information properly.

In most cases, content should not change automatically, allowing users to access the content when they need it without being distracted by moving or changing content when they don’t. By default, carousels and slideshows in Case Western Reserve University's Drupal build are set to only change when the user chooses.
