Whether you want to develop a first-of-its-kind medical treatment or the next big thing in the tech world, we equip you with the knowledge, guidance and opportunities you need to make it happen—in the classroom, lab and beyond.
Research
As one of the top research universities in the country, exploration and investigation is a crucial part of the Case Western Reserve educational experience. In fact, 84 percent of our undergraduate students take part in research.
Our students often start working in labs beginning in their first semester, making meaningful progress on critical research and working closely with our professors—some of the top minds in their fields. You’ll gain hands-on experience, develop your research skills and learn more than you ever thought possible. You even could author a published paper in an acclaimed journal, as many of our undergraduates have done.
One of our most important—and exciting—events each year is Research Showcase, where student innovation is on display for campus and our partners. And we have a team of people dedicated to helping you find the best research opportunities: The Undergraduate Research Office.
We’re thrilled to see where your inquisitive mind leads you—and how we can help.
Entrepreneurship
Unleash your inner inventor on our campus. With cutting-edge facilities and programs dedicated to help make startups successful, Case Western Reserve promotes a true culture of innovation.
Our students’ inventions have been featured in news outlets such as Forbes, Mashable, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today and more. They’ve presented at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas—Case Western Reserve was the first university to take student startups to the show and we continue to have the largest university presence at each year's show—they've earned millions of dollars in funding and even pitched to investors from Shark Tank...at the White House!
These students are driven and inspired. But they’ve also been able to tap resources at Case Western Reserve that are unrivaled.
