CWRU Prevention and Education Programs
- Students Meeting About Risk and Responsibility Training (SMARRT): The mission of SMARRT is to promote a “Culture of Care in the Greek life community,” where every member takes responsibility for their own safety and wellbeing as well as the safety and wellbeing of every other Greek student. For more information on the SMARRT training click HERE.
- Bystander 101: This is a program targeted to new members of the Greek life community. There are three different topics to choose from to help understand and put into action bystander intervention behaviors. One of the three topics is on sexual misconduct—specifically issues around intimate partner violence, stalking and sexual assault. For registration information contact Greek Life HERE.
- Annual Title IX Training: The Office of Equity provides annual training for new students, returning students and responsible employees. The training educates students, faculty, staff and postdoctoral scholars and fellows on the resources and support available to them if they are impacted by sexual harassment or retaliation, how and where to report misconduct or seek support, what the Office of Equity investigation process looks like.
- Bathroom posters: The Bathroom Poster program was created in 1990 by Susan Nickel-Schindewolf, associate vice president for student affairs. The posters provide an overview of the sexual misconduct policy, bystander intervention strategies and support resources. The posters can be found in restrooms around campus. If you have questions regarding the Bathroom Posters please contact the Flora Stone Mather Center for Women HERE.
