Case Western Reserve University's Office of Energy & Sustainability strives to be the green think box and implementer of many sustainability initiatives on campus. Charged with championing the university’s carbon neutrality commitment, the office, which is within the Department of Campus Planning & Facilities Management, partners and collaborates with other departments, faculty and staff and student organizations.
The office tracks and benchmarks Case Western Reserve’s sustainability stats, including:
- Climate Action Plan management
- Energy, greenhouse gas, and sustainability data collection and reporting
- Energy efficiency projects and campus energy metering
- Recycling, reducing waste to landfill, and compost collection
- Sustainable transportation
- Green buildings and grounds
- Driving campus engagement in energy and sustainability through:
- Student Sustainability Ambassador internship program
- A green bag lunch series
