Scope of Project: This project entails a full renovation of three floors (not including the basement level) of the existing Nursing Research Building located in the university’s Health Sciences Campus. The renovation will include interior upgrades, new MEPT systems, exterior window replacement, new roofing, and façade restoration. The project will replace the mechanical air-handling unit currently located on the third floor with a unit that will be placed in a newly created penthouse on the roof. By moving the mechanical systems to the roof, additional space for dry research on the third floor can be gained. This renovation will provide dedicated space for the Department of Psychological Sciences and the permanent location of the Sara and Curt Moll Institute for Mental Health and Well-Being. Not less than 60% of the first floor (~8,700 gsf) will be reserved for the Sara and Curt Moll Institute for Mental Health and Well-Being, with remaining space on the first floor and the second floor reserved for the Department of Psychological Sciences and other related areas. By relocating the mechanicals to the roof, the entire third floor has been enabled for use by the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing dry research faculty and staff.
