Location: Ground Floor, Dental Research Building
Client: College of Arts and Sciences and School of Medicine
Scope of Project: As CWRU has grown its undergraduate student population, the need for STEM-related spaces has increased. Specifically, the need for additional biology teaching labs within the College of Arts and Sciences and School of Medicine has increased. As a result, the university determined the best solution for additional lab space is to repurpose vacated clinical space within the ground floor of the Dental Research building. The 30,000-square-foot renovation included the creation of nine new teaching labs, two new resource labs, ancillary lab support facilities, offices for faculty and lab support staff and student collaboration spaces. In addition to the architectural features and finishes, the renovation included upgraded mechanical, electrical and plumbing components.
