The Office of Interprofessional and Interdisciplinary Education and Research will provide a teamwork workshop at Case Western Reserve University (exact location to be announced) on March 6 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The workshop will focus on how to engage productively in challenging conversations and will emphasize learning and applying practical skills so participants are equipped to have better outcomes from difficult discussions.
Workshop participants will discuss:
- Principles of deconstructive communication
- The power of curiosity and genuine questions
- Giving and receiving feedback, and
- Conflict management.
Multiple learning modalities will be used, including assigned reading before the workshop, short presentations on teamwork concepts and skills, individual and small group reflections, small group discussions, large group debriefs, role-playing, and active team challenges to practice the concepts and skills discussed in the workshop.
