Case Western Reserve University and Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine health professions students are invited to attend a free movement workshop on Sept. 27 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Pivot Center for Art, Dance and Expression. This is an opportunity to meet and move with professional dancers from Cleveland’s Inlet Dance Theatre.
Explore the concept of “building bridges” in an embodied way. This workshop will begin with a simple warm-up, and then Inlet dancers will lead participants through structured improvisations. A collaborative performance improvisation will be created focusing on exploring physical and metaphorical bridges. No dance experience is necessary.
This workshop is part of a community-based project about renovating the historic Sidaway Bridge and the land beneath it, creating a green space and public park that bridges communities and honors Cleveland history.
It is sponsored in part by a gift from Gail and Elliott Schlang for “Devising Health Communities,” a medical humanities program at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine.
