Required training for Samson Pavilion faculty and staff

Case Western Reserve University’s Office of Emergency Management has created a new online training module designed to update faculty and staff on a revised and expanded Emergency Action Plan (EAP) for the Sheila and Eric Samson Pavilion at the Health Education Campus of Case Western Reserve University and Cleveland Clinic. All faculty and staff who regularly work within Samson Pavilion must take this online training by Jan. 12.

Note: If you do not have a workspace in Samson Pavilion, you may disregard this message. If you work primarily at the Dental Clinic or on CWRU’s main campus but spend time in Samson Pavilion, you are encouraged but not required to take this training; students also can take part to educate themselves.

Emergency Action Plans provide information for people within a workspace regarding what to do when incidents occur (e.g., how to report an emergency, when and where to shelter in place, what exit routes and evacuation plans exist).

While many of you participated in training a few years ago, this new program reflects recent EAP changes and enhancements. The training and quiz will take approximately 20 minutes to complete.

To complete, faculty and staff must:

  1. Enroll in the Canvas course.
  2. Go to “Modules” and watch the “Sheila and Eric Samson Pavilion Building EAP Training.”
  3. Go to “Quizzes” and take the “Sheila and Eric Samson Pavilion Building EAP Quiz.”

Once you have completed the training and quiz, your participation will be recorded. If you have any questions, please email publicsafety@case.edu.

Remember: All faculty and staff located in Samson Pavilion must complete this module by Jan. 12.
