The Heights Chamber Orchestra is pleased to be back at the Maltz Performing Arts Center for the Silver Hall Concert Series!
Having just celebrated its 40th season, the Heights Chamber Orchestra is pleased to be back on the Silver Hall Concert Series. Made up of talented amateur and professional musicians, HCO represents community music-making at its finest.
Guest conductor Dean Buck will lead the orchestra in Giuseppi Verdi's Overture to Oberto, Ernest Bloch's Concerto Grosso #1, and Louise Farrenc's Symphony #1. The Concerto Grosso has a Cleveland connection. Written in 1925 when Bloch was the director of the newly estalished Cleveland Institute of Music, the work was created in response to complaints by Bloch's students at CIM about "the inadequacies of tonality in shaping the music for the next century."
