Let Us Not Forget: A Benefit Concert for Ukrainians
Music evolves during times of conflict, changing in meaning and taking on a renewed sense of purpose. Since the Russian invasion in 2022, the music of Ukraine, already rich, diverse and complex, has helped provide a window to this world; giving voice to a people suffering displacement, reflecting their past and reminding us of the importance of their cause. The U4U Band, featuring musicians from across Ukraine who have resettled in northeast Ohio, pulls from this complex history and presents exciting interpretations of traditional and contemporary material. The result is a genuine opportunity for audiences to experience something from another world yet very close to home.
