Kishore Guda, DVM, PhD, is an Associate Professor at the Case Western Reserve University. Guda’s translational oncology team focuses on elucidating the molecular determinants of aggressive gastrointestinal (GI) malignancies (gastric, esophageal, and colorectal), aiming to impact clinical practice via developing evidence-based biomarkers and targeted therapies. His lab employs a spectrum of high-throughput systems biology, animal models, and pharmacogenetic approaches to understand the genetic basis of inherited susceptibility to GI cancers and molecular/ genetic factors contributing to cancer disparities; develop evidence-based molecular biomarkers for early detection of cancers; and develop targeted therapeutic strategies for these often refractory malignancies. In addition, his team is actively involved in developing robust analytics pipelines and integrative computational algorithms for high-throughput Omics applications. Prior to his faculty appointment, Guda was a Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) post-doctoral fellow. His research program is funded by the NIH/NCI, patient donors, and cancer foundations.
