Jesse supports the research and evaluation work related to the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas initiatives and interventions with Dr. Jeff Kretschmar. His primary project is focused on the expansion of the Drug Court program that seeks to address the opioid crisis by providing judicial intervention, treatment, and intensive supervision to break the cycle of recidivism through evidence-based treatments.

Jesse brings over a decade of experience in various roles and contexts to the Begun Center as a licensed social worker, therapist, nonprofit program director, researcher, and trainer. Most recently, Jesse was a Therapist in an Intensive Home-Based Treatment program working with youth and their families with mental health, substance use, and related concerns. Before that, Jesse was a nonprofit leader and trainer, overseeing multiple community and school-based programs focused on child, adolescent, and family bereavement, trauma, and adversity.

Jesse earned a Bachelor of Arts from Indiana Wesleyan University, a Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary, and a Master of Social Work from the Mandel School at Case Western Reserve University.
