According to Ohio SB 199 Sec. 2923.1210, under certain circumstances a handgun may be stored in a vehicle on campus.
In order to avoid a possible violation of the Student Code of Conduct's Weapons Policy, all of the following criteria must be met:
- The student in question must have been issued a valid concealed handgun license.
- The handgun and all ammunition must remain in the student's privately owned vehicle while the student is physically present inside the vehicle OR the handgun and all ammunition are locked in the trunk, glove box or other enclosed compartment within the student's privately owned vehicle.
- The student's privately owned vehicle is not parked illegally or in an unauthorized area.
