America Recycles Day is Friday, November 15. This is a nationwide program organized by Keep America Beautiful to help Americans learn to recycle correctly. Find events, drop off locations, and a recycling pledge at AmericarRecyclesDay.org

The CWRU Office of Energy & Sustainability is helping our campus community participate in America Recycles Day by collecting hard to recycle items.

Find our table in the Tink atrium between 10:00am - 2:00pm to recycle end of life shoes, small electronics and more - see list below!  Shoes will go to TerraCycle and everything else will go to the Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District’s drop off site, where any County resident can also drop off  items during their posted office hours. Here's the full list of what you can bring this Friday:

  • All shoes in any condition, excluding snow boots (but please instead donate shoes that have life left in them to 121 Fitness’s shoe drive

  • Cell phones and small electronics

  • Broken small electronics less than 10 lbs (this includes broken small appliances, please shake out the crumbs and coffee grounds first)

  • Plastic cosmetic containers and tubes (see list on their flyer  and website)

  • Political yard signs

  • Broken string lights (aka holiday lights)
