Competing for prizes and glory, the Southside res halls blew away the zombie competition during April’s Campus Conservation Nationals. Southside reduced electricity consumption in April 12%, saving slightly over 33,000 kWh, the equivalent of over 2,500 gallons of gas, the annual greenhouse gas emissions of about five passenger vehicles and the electricity use of three average US homes.
Southside res halls have won water bottle filling stations for their lobbies to be installed this Summer as well as a sweet trophy for the area office in Fribley.
