Kelvin Smith Library Instagram Takeover

Kelvin Smith Library is one of the centers of student life at Case Western Reserve University. Besides being a great resource for students to research topics for their upcoming papers, KSL makes a perfect study space for those who love to work in quiet spaces.

CWRU students can easily search and access the third floor Stacks, where thousands of shelves of books reside. If someone can’t find a book or resource at the library, they can still check out an item from any one of almost 100 separate academic libraries in the state of Ohio through the OhioLINK system. Another great resource for first-year undergraduate students is the personal librarian (PL). In partnership with the navigators, each first-year undergraduate student is matched with their PL, who is a member of the Research Services team. In addition to their support to the personal librarian program, research librarians are an incredibly helpful resource to those who are scoping out information to use for their academic papers. They can assist and guide you to the best sources available.

As a student assistant at the library, I love helping the campus community and making their experience at KSL the best it can be. I’m always suggesting ideas so that the library’s resources and services can be more effectively utilized, especially since I’m known to use the library as a second home and often stay there for hours at a time! Seeing students and staff find what they need and setting up their study spaces always makes my day, and nothing makes me happier than seeing people collaborating and creating brilliant pieces of work. Working at KSL has been one of the most fulfilling and rewarding experiences of my life at CWRU, and I’m so happy that I can share that experience with everyone on campus!
