At Case Western Reserve University, we believe artificial intelligence (AI) will help shape the future of education.
Under Provost Joy K. Ward’s leadership, our AI in Education initiative is guided by a bold vision: to prepare our campus community not just to navigate an AI-driven world, but to help shape it with purpose, creativity, and integrity.
This work is creating a strong foundation for how AI can enhance teaching, learning, and academic success across the university. It reflects our commitment to expanding opportunity while keeping people at the center—pairing innovation with ethics, human judgment, and meaningful impact in education.
Working closely with Vice Provost for Innovation Jeff Capadona and partners across campus, we are building an ecosystem that brings together academic innovation, ethical guidance, infrastructure, and access to trusted tools.
From new programs and faculty-led course redesign to workshops, literacy-building efforts, and enterprise technologies, we are creating meaningful pathways for students, faculty, staff, alumni, and lifelong learners to engage with AI confidently, responsibly, and creatively. Together, these efforts are not only transforming how we teach and learn at CWRU—they are positioning our community to lead in shaping the future of education.
With more than 400+ AI-integrated courses spanning 40 departments and a growing number of AI degree pathways, we’re leading the way to help students understand, apply and shape AI across fields and futures—including unique opportunities such as the Grow with Google AI for Education Accelerator.
Incorporating AI into your curriculum can feel overwhelming, no matter if you’re teaching a course or participating as a student. CWRU is committed to offering practical resources and guidance for classroom integration, course syllabi, academic writing and the like.
