Meet Brendan Sheehan, an MD-PhD student who brings a scientific lens to venture investing. He studies telomere biology in the context of cancer and plans to become a physician-scientist, combining research and clinical practice to drive innovation in the field of medicine. 

Why did you join the CWRU AVF Fellowship?

Brendan discovered AVF through a friend and former fellow, Galen. Intrigued by the idea of learning how startups are formed, he saw the fellowship as a unique opportunity to expand his understanding of medicine beyond the lab bench.

What excites you most about CWRU AVF? 

"I’ve always had an interest in drug development,” Brendan shares. “The CWRU AVF gives me a chance to explore this process through an economic lens and understand what it takes to bring innovation to market.” With his deep scientific expertise and growing entrepreneurial mindset, Brendan adds a valuable perspective to the AVF team.

Brendan enjoys playing the Irish fiddle for fun, and through this shared passion, he met former fellow Galen.
