The Shaking with Laughter event is a valuable tool to raise awareness and funding for Parkinson’s disease research. Shaking with Laughter is administered through Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine with proceeds supporting the Cleveland Brain Health Initiative. Capitalizing on the School of Medicine’s network of researchers and community organizations allows Shaking with Laughter to reach a broader audience and, hopefully, engage more people who share our goal of improving the lives of those living with Parkinson’s disease.

The Cleveland Brain Health Initiative connects scientists and physician-scientists across the region in a comprehensive approach to develop collaborative, impactful research that will lead to improved brain health for the residents of northeast Ohio and beyond through scientific programs, education, and community outreach.

The Cleveland Brain Health Initiative partners with local and national organizations, including InMotion, a local nonprofit that utilizes the areas of education, exercise, and healing arts to strengthen the mind, body and spirit of those affected by Parkinson’s disease, as well as their care partners. InMotion has developed a range of classes and therapies that calm the mind, strengthen the body, and soothe the spirit.

Funds generated through the Shaking with Laughter event on April 1, 2023 will support vital research that will lead to new discoveries in therapeutics and care, with the ultimate goal of eradicating Parkinson’s.
