Research Projects

The Berger Lab conducts mouse model studies on Energy Balance, Obesity and Cancer, in this project focused on Barrett’s Esophagus (BE) and Esophageal Adenocarcinoma (EAC). These studies include the impact of Obesogenic Diets on the development of BE and EAC in the L2-IL-1β Transgenic mouse, as well as studies on chemoprevention of BE and EAC. Studies are also in progress to develop Transgenic and Knock Out mouse models of candidate genes for BE and EAC determined in human pedigree studies.
