Thank you for your interest in the Master of Science in Medical Physiology (MSMP) program at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
The program accepts applications for spring, summer and fall terms. We encourage you to apply and submit supporting materials early in the application cycle.
Applications are considered complete and ready for review once all required materials have been received. The Admissions Committee reviews each application holistically, and admissions decisions are released on a rolling basis throughout the application cycle.

Applicants who apply by the deadlines are guaranteed an admissions decision for that term. Applications received after the deadline may be considered on a space-available basis. International students who require a new visa are encouraged to apply as early as possible.
Application Submission Materials
Online Application
Complete the online application by selecting Start New Application. Select the entry year and School of Medicine, then click Create Application.
In the Program Details section, select:
- Degree Type: Master’s
- Program: Medical Physiology (MS)
A nonrefundable $50 application fee is required when you submit your application.
Transcripts
Upload unofficial transcripts from all colleges and universities attended. Please do not submit official transcripts with your application. Official transcripts will be required before enrollment only for admitted students planning to enroll at Case Western Reserve University.
If you have completed your degree, your submitted transcript must include both your degree awarded and conferral date.

We recommend completing prerequisite coursework required for your intended professional school program, including:
- One year of biology, physics and English
- Two years of chemistry, including general and organic chemistry
Résumé or CV
Include your professional activities during and after college.
Two Letters of Recommendation
We recommend letters from natural science faculty who can speak to your academic preparation for graduate-level study.
Additional recommendations may come from supervisors, advisors, research mentors or other professional contacts.
The online application will request your recommenders’ contact information for electronic submission. Letters may also be submitted through Interfolio to msmpadmissions@case.edu.
Statement of Purpose
Describe your academic interests, career goals and how the MSMP program will help you achieve them.
Optional Materials
Academic Statement
You may submit an optional statement of no more than 500 words providing context for any academic challenges in your record.
Standardized Test Scores
Standardized test scores are optional for admission.
Applicants who have taken the GRE, MCAT, DAT or PCAT must self-report all exam attempts. Applicants may also upload score reports for each attempt.
Applicants who have not taken one of these exams may request a test score waiver.
International Applicants
If you are not a citizen of an English-speaking country or if your previous college or university degree was not taught primarily in English, you must submit TOEFL, IELTS or PTE scores.
