Important First Steps
Prepare for your transition to CWRU by completing essential onboarding tasks, including accepting your offer of admission, activating your Network ID, accessing university systems, setting up your email account and exploring housing and community resources.

Student ID, Parking and Transportation
Obtain your CWRU ID card, manage parking permits, access campus transportation resources and find information about building access and other essential campus services.
All incoming students will receive an email from the School of Graduate Studies with instructions on how to activate their CWRU ID. Please complete this process as soon as possible.
Your CWRU Network ID provides access to university resources, including the campus wireless network and your CWRU email account.

Internet Access and Technology Requirements
All students need a laptop computer to take quizzes and exams. Devices should include a web camera and microphone for video conferencing and remote learning. Please refer to [U]Tech’s minimum and recommended computer specifications for additional guidance.
Online students, in particular, should have access to a stable internet connection to support success in the program.

Access information about financial aid, tuition payments, billing, budgeting, student accounts and other financial resources available to CWRU students.
Financial Aid
Please follow the steps below. Students with financial aid questions should reach out to the university Financial Aid office.
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), if eligible.
- Log in to the Student Information System (SIS) to complete your Financial Responsibility Agreement (FRA). This one-time requirement must be completed before course registration.
- Register for classes in SIS.
After the first three steps are completed, the department will submit your Memorandum of Assistance.
