Start your own business: Entrepreneurship with the Veale Institute

For any student interested in starting or growing a business or nonprofit, CWRU has the resources to support you through the process.

The Veale Institute for Entrepreneurship is the university’s hub for entrepreneurial activity. Through this, students can participate in a startup competition, educational series, and workshops. You can also apply to be part of the Veale Snyder Fellowship program, where students engage in entrepreneurial academic courses and experiential learning opportunities in Silicon Valley and abroad.

You may have a business idea, but don’t know where to start! You can meet with professionals through LaunchNet for confidential consultations about your entrepreneurial idea. These professionals can also connect you to the resources necessary to launch and maintain a business, including the Student Entrepreneurship Fund which provides funding to student startups and ideas.

Sears think[box], is our open-access makerspace and innovation center where you can begin to bring your ideas to life. The center provides design and ideation resources, prototyping and fabrication equipment, as well as the legal and business expertise needed to launch a startup. Take a look at all that Sears think[box] has to offer on each of the 7 floors in the virtual tour.

All of the resources are available at no cost to our students!
